Girdawars, Patwaries continue strike on 7th consecutive day in Bhaderwah | KNO

BHADERWAH,MAY 25 (KNO) : Girdawars and Patwaries of Bhaderwah and other parts of the Chenab valley continued their pen down strike on 7th consecutive day today and staged a sit-in protest at ADC office complex, Bhaderwah . On the State wide strike call given by All J&K Patwar Association, a large number of Girdawars and Patwaries assembled today at ADC office Bhaderwah and raised slogans against the Government for ignoring their demands.

The speakers said that they were assured of fulfilling their demands many times in the past by the concerned authorities but every time they were cheated and compelled to chose the path of agitation.Reiterating their demands like grade pay for Graduate Patwaries, conducting timely DPC of Patwaries and Girdawars, creation of GQ Circles and Patwar halqas, ban on direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildar, enhancement of allowances for Patwaries and Girdawars, rent for Patwar Khanas (private accommodation) and construction of Patwar Khanas, senior State vice president of AJKPA, Naseer Ahmed Banday president , Mohd Ashraf , Saqib ,Shakeel Ahmed , Nayeem Zargar , Iftikar Ahmed and others said that the association will continue their pen down strike till their demands are not met.
